I thought AIM was fun to use, although I may not have been able to use it if not for my son inviting me. Once in it was fairly easy to use,and there were many features. The bad side was that I felt pressured to type beyond my ability, and those abreiviation. Do it in English!

I believe in the motto "KISS", keep it simple, stupid. And, for that reason AIM Express would be the better choice for me.

Sometimes when I don't feel like chatting on my cell phone , I like having the option of the back and forth banter of AIM.

I was very impressed with AIM. I am also a neophite when it comes to instant messaging and at first the whole concept seemed a bit overwhelming, however I found AIM to be very user friendly and surprising useful. I think the layout is very clear and having a lot of friends and family out of state I am really appreciating the "voice chat" and "text messaging" options. Plus, being able to enjoy XM radio without the monthly fee is pretty cool too. Although I still am far from mastering AIM I have found that each time I use it, I seem to get a little more comfortable with all of the features, maybe even someday I will wonder what I ever did without it...kind of like my cell phone. :-)

I still have to learn what Instant Messaging is before I can determine if a particular one is user friendly, etc.Do you find this valuable? |

I used AIM because it was loaded onto my son's old computer, and I knew he had an account. Whith some difficulty, I was able to comunicate with him(actually he invited me into a chat). Once in, I found the service easy to use and it seemed to have some nice features, like attaching a file or a link. I had difficulty with the speed of the typing required, and the abreviations. Please type in English!
